Series Info

  1. The series will be based on a points system:
    • Points will be awarded based on finishing place
    • 1st = 100 points, 2nd = 99, etc
  2. The points total for final series placing will be based on a skier’s best 6 finishes.
  3. There will be 4 categories contested:
    • Womens’ Skate
    • Mens’ Skate
    • Womens’ Classic
    • Mens’s Classic
  4. Awards will be given for each category for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
  5. Skiers will need a minimum of 5 races to qualify for an award.
  6. If all three awards are not handed out for a category, the awards will be given away in a drawing for those present the last week of racing that have not already qualified for an award.
  7. Skiers may only receive an award in one category though skiers may participate in multiple categories. In the case of a skier winning both Skate and Classic categories, the skier would have the choice of which category they want their first place award in. In the other category, the awards would be allotted to the 2nd, 3rd and 4th place skiers. This will ensure the chance to “spread the wealth”.
  8. Medals will be given for each category for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
  9. Medals will NOT be allotted like awards.
  10. No minimum races will be required for medals.
  11. Medal placing will be based strictly on a skier’s best 6 results.
  12. Criteria for tiebreaks:
    • Head to head results between tied skiers
    • Total time
    • % back
    • Improvement over season
    • Race Director discretion
  13. The tiebreak criteria will be applied by the Race Directory, with the guidance of sponsors and race volunteers and possibly the skiers involved.
  14. The order in which the criteria is applied will be at the discretion of the race director but will be available and clear at the time such determination may be made.
  15. Further rules or guidelines may be added as situations warrant.
